The words "folk music" have always had a negative connotation for me. There is something inherently uncool about folk music, which is why I have a hard time admitting how much I like some of it. There are a bunch of bands I listen to that are all acoustic guitars, pianos, banjos, and beards. One of my most recent folksy finds is Boy & Bear. I've only heard a few of their songs because, as far as I can tell, that's all they've released any music in the U.S. so far. What I have heard, I've really liked.
