What I'm Listening To: Week of July 3rd

The words "folk music" have always had a negative connotation for me. There is something inherently uncool about folk music, which is why I have a hard time admitting how much I like some of it. There are a bunch of bands I listen to that are all acoustic guitars, pianos, banjos, and beards. One of my most recent folksy finds is Boy & Bear. I've only heard a few of their songs because, as far as I can tell, that's all they've released any music in the U.S. so far. What I have heard, I've really liked.

Ikea Hackers

If you've ever shopped at Ikea, you know that most of their products have a distinct Ikea-y feel. It's hard to argue with their prices but if you shop there too often, your home may start to look like a page from their catalog. That's why I love Ikea Hackers. This is a blog dedicated to ingenious ways people have hacked Ikea products to fit their needs or style. I have found so many ideas that I want to implement in my apartment.

This is an idea that I need to implement sooner rather than later, a place to hide the kitty litter box. Right now I have a huge, ugly covered litter box in my bathroom. It's my least favorite part of having cats. I would love to replace it with something a little more sleek and discreet.

Favorite Etsy Shop: Gingiber

One of my favorite Etsy shops, Gingiber is having a sale on a lot of her older prints to make room for newer stuff. For only $10, I was able to pick up this Cardinal print that I've been drooling over for a while. I can't wait to hang it on my wall.

I really like the unique style of these prints. The prints are described as nursery art but most of them will work in any room of the home.
